2010 1000plus Site Leader Application
WHAT IS A SITE LEADER?Site Leaders are a core part of 1000plus' success. Without the help of Site Leaders it would be almost impossible to organize and mobilize over 1000 volunteers in the matter of a few hours. As a Site Leader you will help direct volunteers to a service site and interface with the hosting service organization to ensure everything goes smoothly. At the end of service experience you'll facilitate a short conversation with your group to help everyone reflect on their experience. We also hope you'll be gracious enough to help recruit amazing people like yourselves for the project sites, wear one of our snazzy 1000plus T-shirts to help promote the event, and assist the executive committee in making 1000plus a success.
WE TRAIN YOU...Don't fret. You can do this. With our help and a bit of short training, you'll know what bus to guide your group to, how to contact your hosting service organization, and what to do in the event of a small crisis or mix-up. We'll even give you the tools to help your group members reflect on the day and get the most out of their experience. Site Leaders will participate in two short, but effective, training sessions in the months of February and March.
If you can see yourself taking on this role, be sure to fill out the following short application:
