Don't be shy. REGISTER and get all of your friends to register so you can hang out with them while doing service. It's a great way to make an impact in the community and have fun while doing so! All you need to do is visit the Opportunities tab at the top of the page. Look through the variety of opportunities we currently have posted and find one that is right for you (and your friends).

The 2010 1000plus Executive Committee is now finalized. If you would like to serve on one of our subcommittees, please contact us.

Did you participate in the 1000plus Day of Service last spring? Do you want to help the 1000plus Planning Committee by serving as either an executive or a member of a subcommittee?

This year’s date for 1000plus is March 27th, 2010. The application for the 2010 1000plus Planning Committee is now available online. There are currently three Executive Committee roles vacant and four Subcommittees for which 1000plus is seeking motivated individuals. Applications are due Friday, October 23rd at 5pm. Once all applications have been received and reviewed, the current Executive Committee will reach out to applicants to inform them of suggested placement. Executive Committee meetings will begin during the first week of November.

The award is presented to an individual or group that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to civic engagement through Pittsburgh Cares directly or through one of their 250 nonprofit partners. The 2009 Day of service was a great success! Thanks to everyone who made the day a success, especially our site leaders, and most of all to all of our volunteers. You really made a difference!
